John Gibbs specializes in 3D Computer Modeling and Animation, Artificial Intelligence and the Creative Arts, Sound & Media design, and Modern Drama. Prior to coming to UGA, Dr. Gibbs was director of the Digital Production Arts program at Clemson University. He has authored or co-authored numerous publications on Maya and 3D computer graphics that have been translated into nine languages. He is also author of numerous articles on Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Gibbs' Ph.D. dissertation, No-thing is Left to Tell: Zen/Chaos Theory in the Dramatic Art of Samuel Beckett (1999), was published by Fairleigh Dickinson UP. Dr. Gibbs is co-founder of Artimatic, Inc., a company that applies Machine Learning/AI to challenges in the digital art space. Dr. Gibbs carries his educational drive to the wider public via his YouTube channel, Dr. Know-it-all.
