Admissions

There are no admission requirements for the major, which is open to any student who is admitted to the University. However, students are encouraged to take FILM 2120 and maintain a minimum 2.8 GPA before adding the major.

Up to date requirements for the degree can be found in the UGA Bulletin. During their first 60 credit hours, the student will work with a professional advisor in the office of the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences (with few exceptions). Students should contact Film Studies area head Professor Richard Neupert after earning 60 total credit hours in order to be assigned a faculty advisor in the Department of Theatre and Film Studies. Students with double majors should see their advisor in each major department every semester in order to receive complete advisement before registration.
