Department Colloquium: Playwright Tim Slover

Playwright Tim Slover will discuss the process of playwriting and new play development. He is on campus to work with members of the Graduate Acting Ensemble and Thalian-Blackfriars who are currently producing his play Virtue.

Dr. Slover, associate professor of Theatre at the University of Utah, is an accomplished playwright and screenwriter whose works have been produced off-Broadway and in professional regional and university theatres all over the US, Canada, and UK. His writing awards include the Grand Prize, 65th Annual Writers Digest Writers Awards; the Christopher Brian Wolk Award for Playwriting Excellence; a Cine Golden Eagle; a Freedoms Foundation George Washington Honor Medal; and a Hopwood Award for Best Play. He was also a finalist for a Television Arts and Sciences Community Service Emmy. His plays are published by Samuel French, Inc., and Encore Performance Publishing. His writing has also appeared in the National Biography of American Theatre, Sunstone Magazine, and been published by Signature Books and Silverleaf Press. He is also among the writers commissioned by Oregon Shakespeare to create a modern-English version of Shakespeare's canon.
