Department Colloquium: Rhonda Blair

Rhonda Blair, Professor of Theatre at Southern Methodist University, will give a short talk about the implications of recent research in cognitive science on actor training. Following the talk she will give a workshop in the Arena Theatre (from 12:45-2:15 pm) to students in the graduate seminar on acting theory; any interested faculty members and graduate students are welcome to observe.

Dr. Blair has directed and performed in over 70 productions and has been doing original solo and collaborative performance work since the 1980s. Her book, The Actor, Image, and Action: Acting and Cognitive Neuroscience, is being used by acting teachers in both the U.S. and England. She was president of the American Society for Theatre Research from 2009 to 2012.
