Impromptu Performance: "Rupture de soi" (Shattering the Self)

Lénablou is a choreographer, scholar, and activist known for her innovative promotion of Caribbean performance cultures through her Techni’Ka dance technique. Based in Guadeloupe (French West Indies), her dance company TRILOGIE has toured across the world giving performances in Senegal, Niger, Slovenia, Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, French Guiana, Dominican Republic, Trinidad & Tobago, and France. In 2008, Lénablou was honored with the highest National Order decoration in France: the Chevalier de la légion d’honneur (Knight of the Legion of Honor). She will visit UGA with three of her dancers and two musicians to hold various public events, including a dance performance and a lecture on her creative method in French.
