New Books by Theatre and Film Studies Faculty

Congratulations to Dr. Emily Sahakian on the publication of Staging Creolization: Women's Theater and Performance from the French Caribbean by the University of Virginia Press and to Dr. Rielle Navitski for Public Spectacles of Violence: Sensational Cinema and Journalism in Early Twentieth-Century Mexico and Brazil from Duke University Press. Both of these books appeared in summer 2017, as did Cosmopolitan Film Cultures in Latin America, 1896-1960, which Dr. Navitski co-edited for Indiana University Press, and The Best American Short Plays 2015-2016, which Dr. John Patrick Bray co-edited for Applause Theatre and Cinema Books. Dr. Bray also edited an in-house anthology of plays for the Athens Playwrights' Workshop (APW Press), which is being distributed to faculty, students and members of the community.
