MFA Program Among 5 Most Underrated of 2018-2019

Onstageblog.com placed UGA's MFA Acting Program among its most underrated programs of 2018-2019 using the following criteria: 

  • Quality of Facilities

  • Cost / Scholarship Opportunities

  • Quality of Faculty (Terminal degrees, professional experience, and full-time vs adjunct)

  • Admissions / Auditions / Selectivity

  • Quality of Curriculum 

  • Career & Alumni Support

  • Performance Opportunities

UGA is joined on the list by LSU, UNC at Chapel Hill, Wayne State University, and Kent State. 

Recent Graduates

With the end of the 2018-2019 academic year comes new beginnings for our students as they enter the working world or continue their education. 

  • Lauren King (Frau Blucher from this year's Young Frankenstein) will be joining the Aurora Apprentice Company for its next season
  • Josh Hudson (Young Frankenstein) will be doing summer stock at GLOW Lyric Theatre
  • James Cogswell (The Man in 2018's BFE) will be making his professional stage debut in The Antipodes at Pinch 'N' Ouch in ATL
  • Grant Pfost just booked a SAG short film and is currently being represented by East Coast Talent 
  • Lukas T. Woodyard will be attending NYU Tisch School for the Arts in the Fall
  • Larry Cox Jr. will be joining faculty at Eastern Illinois teaching Musical Theatre
  • Brittney Harris will be continuing her fellowship at VA Tech
  • Anna Pieri will be teaching at Northview High school
  • Marlon Burnley is signed with Atlanta Models and Talent
  • John Terry will be attending Acrobat of the Heart workshops over the summer
  • Marlon Burnley, John Terry, and Charlie Cromer (along with current faculty member T. Anthony Marotta) attended Orlango Fringe with their original adaptation of H.G. Wells' The Island of Dr. Moreau called The Asylum of Dr. Moreau

Undergraduate Eva Ramirez will be taking her original show Chiquita Sofía to the Atlanta Fringe Festival over the summer.
