Cellar Theatre

A new addition to UGA Theatre’s annual offerings – the New Work Spotlight! Every year, with support of the New Georgia Group Grant, UGA Theatre will highlight a student-written, student-produced work. The first production of this slot will be First Semester: A Musical by undergraduate Wyn Alyse Thomas, opening March 21, 2024!

First Semester: A Musical follows Alicia, a chronic overachiever with an undiagnosed anxiety disorder whose fervor for scholastic excellence is undone by the rigors of college living. Between her plummeting grades and her long-time friend taking collegiate excess to its extremes, Alicia must find a way to navigate her uncertain new reality. This musical is an exploration of identity, dating, friendship, girlhood, and mental health at one of the most vulnerable stages in one’s life.

Co-produced by Thalian Blackfriars. Suggested donation of $10 can be made online or at the door. Free Admission. Reserve tickets at ugatheatre.com/firstsemester
