Adjusting hours on variable hour courses

Some independent/individualized study courses have a choice of hours between 1 and 3 (or more). In many cases, you’ll want it to be 3 hours, but be sure you have discussed this with your professor. Some graduate student courses (ex: 9010, 9300) may be 6 hours or more.

For undergraduates, for example, THEA 5080 can count as a theatre elective but only if it’s 3 credit hours. You have to select the number of hours when registering – click on the number for the course’s credit hours, which should appear blue in Athena. Then you can select the hours.

Did you wait until after drop/add ended? Then you'll need to do a section change form before the withdrawal deadline.
