Mandy Kay Rodgers (2008, Film Studies and Magazine Journalism) has 15+ years of experience in the film/entertainment industry using skills gained from both of her majors.

The department would like to congratulate Associate Professor Vivian Appler and Professor/Department Head Julie Ray on being awarded the Kay Parker Professorship and Caroline Ridlehuber Professorship respectively. 

From Tony Award-winning playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, writer of “An Octoroon” and “Appropriate,” comes “Everybody,” a modern adaptation of the 15th century morality tale “Everyman,” which itself is thought to be an adaptation of an earlier Dutch play, “Elckerlijc.

This past summer, fourteen students - undergraduates, MFA students, and PhD students - made their way to Greece to explore both ancient and modern theatrical venues in a 22-day intensive tour, including the world renowned Athens Epidaurus Festival.
